9:45 am. - Kid's Church
Every Sunday morning we join mom and dad for a song in "Big Church"then we get to go to Kid's Church for our very own worship service.  We learn to praise the Lord with kid-sized songs.  Then there's a time of kid-sized drama.  We do kid-sized skits and learn to act for the Lord and for our congregation.  It's lots of fun!  Then it's time for a kid-sized bible lesson.  This year we are learning all the basics of our Christian Life, just like mom and dad do in "Big Church." We love it here and it's the place we want to be every Sunday Morning.

Fall, A Wonderful Time Of The Year

Wow!  Fall is here.  Isn't it wonderful how seasons change?  Fall is so beautiful.  When you think of fall you must also think of the holiday's that are on the horizon.  What a blessed time that will be! The coming of the baby Jesus. Do you see what I mean?  It is a natural train of thought.

Here of late I have had hope on my mind a lot.  It makes me think of how much we all need a dose of hope from time to time.  Life is not always easy to cope with.  One of many things give me hope, and that is God's grace.  If you are in any way like me...it's hard to picture grace.  What does grace look like?

Well, this morning I was doing some reading and I found a story about Thomas Jefferson.  During his days as president, Thomas Jefferson and a group of companions were traveling across the country on horseback.  They came to a river which had left its bands because of a recent downpour.  The swollen river had washed the bridge away. Each rider was forced to ford the river on horseback, fighting for his life against the rapid currents.  The very real possibility of death threatened each rider, which caused a traveler who was not part of their group to step aside and watch.  After several had plunged in and made it to the other side, the stranger asked President Jefferson if he would ferry him across the river.  The president agreed without hesitation.  The man climbed on, and shortly thereafter the two of them made it safely to the other side.  As the stranger slid off the back of the saddle onto dry ground, one in the group asked him, "Tell me, why did you select the president to ask this favor of?"  The man was shocked, admitting he had no idea it was the president who had helped him.  "All I know," he said, "is that on some of your faces was written the answer 'No,' and on some of them was the answer 'Yes.'

I am convinced that "grace" and the hope it brings puts the look of "yes" on our faces.  Is that important?  You bet it is!  think about all the people you will come into contact with during the holidays....family and friends from all over.  Will they know you are glad to see them?  Will your face say "yes, I'm glad to see you...yes, I'm saved...yes, I'm forgiven...yes, we don't always agree on things...yes, life is sometimes very stressful...yes, let's share our lives with one another.

In a time when so many have frowning faces that say"no", is your face saying "yes?"

Dear Ones, please go take a look in the mirror and give yourself a big yes!

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.  Eph. 1:7

God Bless,

Pastor Ralph
